Connect Postey with Claude via MCP

Integrate Postey with Claude using the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — Create, schedule, and manage your social media posts directly from your conversations with Claude on claude.ai.

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that allows Claude to connect with external tools and services. With the Postey MCP integration, Claude can:

  • Create and manage social media drafts
  • Schedule posts across multiple platforms
  • Upload and attach media files
  • Retrieve account and draft information
  • All directly from your conversations on claude.ai

  • "Create a Twitter thread about our new product launch"
  • "Schedule this blog post summary for LinkedIn tomorrow at 9 AM"
  • "Show me all my scheduled posts for this week"
  • "Create an Instagram carousel with these talking points"

Prerequisites

  • Claude account on claude.ai
  • Postey account with at least one connected social platform
  • Postey API key (we'll generate this in Step 1)

Setup Guide

Step 1: Get Your Postey API Key

  1. Log in to your Postey account
  2. Navigate to Settings → MCP Integration
  3. Click "Create new API key"
  4. Copy the generated API key
  5. Store it securely — you'll need it in the next step

🔒 Security Note: Your API key grants full access to your Postey account. Keep it private and never share it publicly.

Step 2: Enable Postey in Claude

  1. Go to claude.ai
  2. Open Settings (gear icon in the bottom left)
  3. Navigate to the Integrations tab
  4. Find Postey in the available integrations list
  5. Click Connect
  6. Paste your API key when prompted
  7. Click Authorize

✅ You're all set! Claude can now access Postey.

Step 3: Start Using Postey with Claude

Simply start a conversation and ask Claude to help with your social media:

Review Before Publishing

Always review Claude's drafts before scheduling. Claude will create the draft in Postey where you can:

  • Edit content
  • Preview how it looks on each platform
  • Adjust scheduling

Troubleshooting

"Cannot connect to Postey" Error

  • Verify your API key is correct
  • Check that your Postey account is active
  • Try regenerating your API key
  • Disconnect and reconnect the integration

Drafts Not Appearing

  • Check the correct Social Set is selected in Postey
  • Verify your connected accounts are active
  • Refresh your Postey dashboard
  • Check if the draft was created in a different workspace

Scheduling Failures

  • Ensure the scheduled time is in the future
  • Check your timezone settings in Postey
  • Verify you have posts remaining in your plan
  • Confirm the platform account is still connected

Privacy & Security

What Claude can access:

  • Your Postey password
  • Payment information

  • Other users' data

Data handling:

  • API calls are encrypted
  • No conversation data is stored by Postey
  • You can revoke access anytime
  • API keys can be regenerated if compromised

Managing Your Integration

Disconnect Postey

  1. Go to claude.ai Settings → Integrations
  2. Find Postey
  3. Click Disconnect

Regenerate API Key

  1. Go to Postey Settings → MCP Integration
  2. Click Revoke current key
  3. Click Create new API key
  4. Update the key in Claude Settings

Check Connection Status

  • Green indicator = Connected and active
  • Red indicator = Connection issue
  • Gray indicator = Not connected
